How long has DCP been around?
Douglas County Parents was formed in 2013 and has been advocating for public education and supporting school board candidates ever since.
Why does DCP support school board elections?
The school board makes critical decisions about public education in Douglas County. By electing candidates who prioritize students, teachers, and public education, we can ensure decisions are made locally and not influenced by national political agendas.

Is my donation tax-deductible?
Unfortunately, donations to small donor committees are not tax-deductible.
What is the maximum amount I can donate?
As a small donor committee, we can only accept donations of $50 or less per year, per individual. You can donate again starting January 1st, 2024.
Can my spouse or other family members donate?
Yes! Each individual can donate up to $50 per year. Encourage your family members to contribute as well.
What happens if I already donated $50 this year?
Thank you for your support! You can donate again on January 1st, 2026. In the meantime, you can help by sharing our donation link with friends and family.

Four seats are up for election, meaning the majority of the school board is at stake. We need candidates who will prioritize public education and keep the focus on students, not politics.
How does the school board election work?
School board members are elected at large, meaning all registered voters in Douglas County can vote, even though candidates must live in specific districts.

We support candidates who prioritize strong public education for all students, respect teachers, and make decisions based on local needs, not national political agendas.
How is the opposition funded?
Historically, the opposition has received large sums of money from individual donors and special interest groups. That’s why grassroots support is critical for our success.

What is the deadline to donate?
You can donate once per calendar year. If you donated in 2024, you can donate again in 2025. The deadline for your 2025 donation is December 31st. You can donate again starting January 1st, 2026
What happens if we don’t meet our fundraising goals?
Every dollar helps us build capacity, but reaching our goal ensures we can compete against well-funded opposition and run a strong campaign in 2025.
