Who We Are

Douglas County Parents (DCP) is a grassroots organization dedicated to standing up for public education in Douglas County. We are parents, educators, and community members united by our belief that every child deserves access to equitable, high-quality education. Together, we advocate for policies and leadership that prioritize students, empower teachers, and strengthen our public schools.

Our Mission

Our mission is to protect and promote strong public education in Douglas County by:

  • Supporting pro-public education candidates for the school board.

  • Empowering community members to engage with the school district and advocate for transparent, student-focused policies.

  • Ensuring every student has access to safe, equitable, and inclusive learning environments.

What We Do

3

At DCP, we work tirelessly to support our public schools and the students who rely on them. Our efforts include:

  • Raising Funds: We provide financial support to candidates who are committed to keeping public education public.

  • Educating the Community: Through events, house parties, and online resources, we equip parents and community members with the tools they need to take action.

  • Advocating for Change: We speak out at school board meetings, counter misinformation, and push for policies that ensure equity and transparency in our schools. See our Blog for more information.

Why It Matters

Public education is the cornerstone of a strong community. When our schools thrive, so do our neighborhoods, businesses, and families. By working together, we can ensure that Douglas County remains a place where every child has the opportunity to succeed.
